East End Refugee Committee in Toronto
Our Mandate
In partnership with the federal government, we undertake sponsorships of refugees approved for permanent residency by Canadian Visa Officers who receive requests through the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
We provide financial support, friendship and settlement assistance to the refugee families which we sponsor.

Our Origins
We came together in 1995 to contribute in a practical way to the desperate refugee situation in the former Yugoslavia. While many of us had previously been involved in refugee sponsorship, we felt we could offer stronger support if we worked together.
